1 Sayyaf bandit killed, 2 hurt in clash with military in Basilan
MANILA, Philippines – An alleged member of the Abu Sayyaf group was killed while two others were injured in a clash with military forces in Basilan Sunday morning, the Army said Monday.
Captain Alberto Caber of the Army’s First Infantry Division said joint troops from the elite Special Forces team and from Scout Ranger Company were on security operations when they traded shots with undetermined number of bandits near sitio (sub-village) Bato, Mebak village, Sumisip town at about 1:30a.m.
Civilians in the village confirmed that the fatality was a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group identified as Mohammad Aliman. He was said to be the first cousin of Commander Juhair Aliman
Meanwhile the two injured were identified as Kirum Tampuri and Kursi Umangkat.
