Games today:
The Arena
4 p.m. – Lyceum vs. Mapua
6 p.m. – Arellano vs. St. Benilde
FOUR TEAMS that are at the bottom half of the standings will try to gain some momentum for the next season when they take on teams that share their same fate in the 88th NCAA men’s basketball tournament today at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Mapua Cardinals will be taking on the league’s worst squad Lyceum Pirates in the opener while the Arellano Chiefs battle the St. Benilde Blazers in the nightcap.
It has been a forgetful season so far for theses squads but hope springs eternal as they try to start their build-up for next season with wins near the end of the elimination round.
Both Mapua and AU share identical 6-10 (win-loss) records for the 7th and 8th spot while the Blazers tote a 4-12 mark, for ninth place. Lyceum is at the bottom with a 3-14 card. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
