CANDUMAN FC went home with the players 14 title and a first runner-up plum in the players 12 in the Centcom Football Cup for Peace and Unity last Saturday at the Central Command grounds in barangay Apas, Cebu City.
Canduman FC thwarted tournament host CentCom Warzhockz, 2-0, for the players 14 title then finished first runner-up in the players 12 category after bowing to eventual champion Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, 1-0.
The players 8 title was clinched by Lahug after beating the University of San Carlos (USC), 2-0.
USC also finished first runner-up in the players 10 after bowing to Suba Basbas, 4-3.
With the success of the tournament, CentCom Commander Maj. Gen. Jose Mabanta and CentCom Warzhockz coach Alex Ballesteros said that a bigger tournament will be held at the camp to support the grassroots development program of the Cebu Football Association.
This seven-a-side football festival was also part of the camp’s celebration for the month of peace. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
