THE Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) solidified its hold of the top spot after stretching its win streak to three in yesterday’s resumption of eliminations in the secondary football competition of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) at the Cebu City Sports Center.
DBTC outsmarted Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC), 3-1 to add another three points to its accumulated score for a total of nine points. The defending champions remain to be the only team that has yet to drop a game in the eliminations.
The loss dropped the Magis Eagles to third place with a win and two losses.
In the other game, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) blanked winless University of San Carlos (USC), 3-0, to remain in second place with three wins and one loss.
Idle University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) is at fourth place also with one win and two losses.
TERTIARY SEMIFINALS
Defending champions USC will go up against University of Cebu (UC) this afternoon for the first finals ticket in the collegiate level.
The remaining finals ticket will be contested by eliminations leader USJ-R against University of the Visayas (UV).
USJ-R finished the eliminations with 10 points equivalent to three wins and a draw while USC advanced with nine points for its three wins and one loss. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
