RAFI, prov’l school board to ease classroom shortage
THE Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI), has proposed to partner with the Cebu Provincial School Board to build two-story, six-classroom buildings in at least 10 public schools in the province.
Each school building will cost P5.2 million each.
In the proposal, RAFI will put up 60 percent of the cost while 40 percent is shoudered by the province.
Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, chairperson of the Provincial School Board welcomed the proposal, and directed the school board and foundation to work out details of the partnership.
RAFI targets 15 school buildings in different municipalities, funds are available for 10 school buildings, said Anthony Dignadice of RAFI
Project sites were identified in the cities of Toledo, Talisay and Carcar.
Article continues after this advertisementAlso identified were the municipalities of Consolacion, Carmen, Liloan, Daanbantayan, San Remegio, Balamban, Tuburan, Dumanjug, Alegria, Sogod, Dalaguete and Asturias.
Article continues after this advertisement“We are waiting for the governor’s approval. Hopefully next week, we can have the Memorandum of Agreement and start project implementation as soon as possible,” Dignadice said.
