A 21-YEAR-OLD-old nurse was found hanging dead while a 69-year-old American national was found lifeless at home in separate incidents in Lapu-Lapu City.
Police found no foul play in the two deaths.
Danica Jane Lopez was found by her cousin Glaze Magsubar in a prone position in their house in barangay Canjulao.
The two cousins lived together in Provident Homes in sitio Kinalumsan. Lopez worked at Seamens Hospital in Mandaue.
There were work-related problems that Lopez confided to her cousin, but it’s not certain what exactly pushed the nurse to take her own life.
Lopez was found with a blanket looped around her neck. The other end was tied to a broken beam used to hang clothes.
Her cousin said Lopez arrived from work around 9 a.m. last Wednesday.
Lopez didn’t respond to her call to come to the table for lunch about 1 p.m.
Her cousin said she went to check again about 3 p.m. after not seeing any sign of her. She said she found the nurse already unconscious.
Paramedics were called but the woman was already dead.
In barangay Pajo, Paul Charles Bourrasa, a native of Massachusetts, U.S.A., was found dead lying on a bed by his live-in partner Marichu Pitiluna.
Petiluna, 23, said she found her partner lying with his nose bleeding around 8 p.m. last Wednesday.
The American was brought to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital but the attending doctor declared him dead.

BURGLARY SUSPECT NABBED
A MAN was arrested after he was identified as one of four persons who robbed a hardware store in barangay Labogon, Mandaue City.
Police said Gilbert Valiro allegedly connived with a minor and two other men identified only as Balot and Utah in ransacking Arkay Home Builders at dawn yesterday.
Valiro was identified by the store’s security guard as one of the burglars who entered by destroying the door’s padlock.
Mico Tuñacao of GDS Security Agency said he was sleeping when the burglars struck but that he saw Valiro roaming around the store just before he fell asleep.
