Patrol car in Cebu City plunges into ravine, 2 cops dead

MANILA, Philippines—Two cops were killed after their patrol car plunged into 160-foot deep ravine in Cebu City, police said.

Chief Superintendent Marcelo Garbo, Central Visayas police director identified the fatalities as Police Officer 3 Christopher Requina and Senior Police Officer 1 Gino Ursunal.

Garbo said the victims were on their way back to Dalaguete police station after providing security in a festival when it fell off a cliff along Barangay (village) Mantalogngon around 3 a.m.

Police Officer 3 Alan Sanoy survived, while Ursunal and Requina didn’t share the same fate.

Case was placed for further investigation, he said.
