The Aquino administration has received passing marks for its disaster preparedness efforts, according to a Pulse Asia survey survey.

The administration registered a mean grade of 80 for its disaster preparedness initiatives, speed of response to the needs of calamity victims, and the effectiveness of its responses.

Pulse Asia conducted the survey from Aug. 31 to Sept. 7, a period during which the P351-billion flood control master plan for Metro Manila was approved and a 7.9-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Eastern Samar.

Survey respondents were made to grade the administration’s performance in responding to the needs of victims for typhoons and other disasters that occurred since June 2012 using a scale of 0 to 100, with 75 as the passing grade.

The Aquino administration scored passing grades on all issues across regions and classes.
