14 domestic flights at NAIA cancelled due to ‘Lawin’

MANILA, Philippines—Fourteen domestic flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport were cancelled on Monday, due to bad weather heightened by typhoon Lawin in the eastern part of the country.

Cancelled were flights to Masbate, Samar, Negros and Cotabato provinces, a statement from the NAIA state operator, Manila International Airport Authority, showed.

At NAIA Terminal 3, six Air Philippines flights to and from Masbate, Calbayog City and Catarman City were cancelled. At Terminal 2, Cebu Pacific cancelled two flights to Dumaguete City and one flight to Cotabato City, and their return trips.

At Terminal 4, the Old Domestic Airport, Zest Air cancelled a flight to Masbate and its return trip.

The MIAA called on the affected passengers to contact their respective airlines for re-booking. Some of the passengers were eventually accommodated on the next available flights on Monday.
