YOUTH GANG IN RUMBLE
A MEMBER of a youth gang was shot and wounded in a fight that broke out in front of a school in barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City.
Junril Rosal, 26, a member of the Crips gang, was shot in the chest.
A 16-year-old boy was later arrested by police in barangay Casuntingan. The boy, who was turned over to social workers, tagged his companion identified as Raygen Rosacina as the one who shot Rosal.
Police said Rosal and his friends were talking in front of the school around 4 p.m. when a group of teenagers arrived.
Police said Rosal’s group confronted the other group. A fistfight broke out.
Rosal was shot during the scuffle and was rushed to a hospital in Mandaue. REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
HUBBY STABS SELF
A 28-YEAR-OLD man stabbed himself in the stomach following a fight with his wife in barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City, at dawn yesterday.
Jose Mar Colcol and his wife attended a party and argued after arriving home.
The wife told police that jealousy was the cause of the argument.
The wife said she went to their room after the argument while her husband went out of the house.
The wife said she later found her wounded husband outside and called for assistance.
Paramedics from the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation arrived and brought the man to a Cebu City hospital. REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
FIRE DESTROYS LAHUG BUILDING
WEDNESDAY’S downpour failed to save a commercial building that was damaged by fire in barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
The two-story building on Sanson Road is owned by lawyer Bert Suson.
Two stalls at the ground floor of the building were razed, said Cebu City fire investigator Vivencio Talle Jr.
Talle said investigators are still checking reports that the fire started at the ground floor.
The fire broke out at 6:26 p.m. and was contained 10 minutes after. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
