2 chess tournaments set in J Centre Mall
TWO CHESS tournaments will be held at the J Centre Mall along AS Fortuna Street in Mandaue City this month.
The first is the Goodwill Gallery Kiddies Open Chess Tournament this coming Saturday featuring Cebu’s promising young wood pushers.
The tournament is open to ladies 20 years old below and boys 16 years old below. The tournament will use a seven round Swiss system format with 25 minutes of playing time.
The champion here will bring home P1,500.
The other is the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA)-Cebu Chapter’s chess tournament on Sept. 29 and 30.
This tournament will be a single round robin Swiss system event with 30 minutes to play.
Article continues after this advertisementIt will be a team-based tournament with four regular players and one reserve making up a team. At least one player in the team should be a member of PICPA-Cebu Chapter.
Article continues after this advertisementRegistration fee for each team is P1,500. The winning team will take home P10,000 and a trophy.
