MANILA, Philippines – Senator Ferdinand “Bong-Bong” Marcos Jr. dismissed rumors that he and his group, the Nacionalista Party, was supporting a move to oust Juan Ponce-Enrile from the Senate presidency.

In fact, Marcos threw his support behind Enrile even after his rift with another NP member, Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV.

“Yes sure. If I didn’t support the Senate President, e di sumama na ako kay Sonny di ba? [I would have have joined Sonny, right?] ” Marcos told reporters.

He also dismissed rumors that the NP being headed by Senator Manny Villar was supporting an ouster plot against Enrile.

“It makes no sense. Sinasabi this is an NP move, e kung NP move bakit si Trillanes lang ang lumipat? They say this is an NP move bit if it was an NP move thn why was Trillanes the only one who moved out]” said Marcos.

Trillanes bolted the majority bloc Wednesday to join the minority group in the Senate after accusing Enrile of railroading a bill seeking to divide the Camarines Sur province.
