Joavan fires gun at money lender’s home

AFTER nearly a year of staying out of the limelight, Joavan Fernandez, the controversial adopted son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez is in the news again.

He was seen firing a gun last night at the house of 60-year-old businessman Ignacio Gonzaga Enjambre in barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.

The businessman complained to the Talisay City police.

Joavan was on board a white CRV vehicle with an unidentified person when he stopped by Enjambre’s house and asked for a P10,000 loan.

When Enjambre refused, Joavan reportedly pulled out a gun fired several shots at the house.

Enjambre said he immediately took cover while Joavan and his companion sped off in the car.

Insp. Romeo Caacoy of the Talisay City Police said they tried but failed to locate Joavan after the incident.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

Enjambre is engaged in money lending. Most of his clients work in the government. Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
