MANILA, Philippines — Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero shrugged off results of the latest Pulse Asia survey where he ranked second to Senator Loren Legarda if the senatorial elections were held today.
“Sino man ang mataas sa survey , hindi dapat magmalaki o magyabang .Sino man ang mababa, hindi dapat mainis dahil survey lang naman yan. Nagbabago yan [Whoever is high in the survey should not be proud. Whoever is low, should not be pissed off because it’s just a survey. It still changes],” Escudero said Tuesday in a radio interview.
“Sa dulo, boto pa rin ng halalan ang binibilang para malaman kung sino ang mananalo a t kung sino ang hindi [In the end , it’s still the votes during the election that will be counted to find out who wins and who loses],” he said.
Besides, Escudero said being number one in the senatorial race was not an assurance that he or she would have an edge to be the next president of the Philippines.
“Kung titingnan natin ang ating kasaysayan, wala pa namang nagyaring nag number one sa Senado na nanalo bilang presidente. Ang recent kasaysayan, pinakita at pinatunayan po yan” he added.
Still, Escudero, who ranked second in the Pulse Asia survey with 61.2 percent, expressed his gratitude to the people for their trust and continued support for him.
It was Legarda who topped the survey with 67.3 percent.
