Talisay murder

He earlier admitted his participation in the death and mutilation of two women in Talisay City in 2008.

Now, Richard Gudelosao withdrew his testimonies and claimed he is innocent of the charges.

He said he was forced by policemen to execute the extra-judicial affidavit which proved that he killed 24-year-old nurse Eva Mae Peligro and her cousin Gwendolyn Balasta, 26, at their home in a private subdivsion in July 24, 2008.

“I was threatened. I’m not involved in the death of the two women,” Gudelosao said in Cebuano.

He said it was his friend Jojo Cellar, a taxi driver, who killed  the two women.

Boljoon killing

An unidentified assailant shot and killed a farmer in barangay San Antonio, Boljoon town in southern Cebu last Sunday.

Meliton Romeo, in his 60s, died after he was shot in the stomach. Romeo, however, told the police the name of the shooter before he died.

But police are withholding the name of the assailant while a hot pursuit was conducted to arrest the assailant.

Police investigation showed that Romeo chanced upon a robber inside his house.

The robber could have been surprised by Romeo, who had just returned after gathering food for the chicken, carabaos and cows he was raising.

Lapu stabbing

A man stabbed and wounded a disc jockey with a broken bottle inside a bar near Tamiya, barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

Fender Quijano, 25, of sitio Humay-Humay, barangay Gun-ob, was stabbed in the chin and neck by Julius Abing, 23, of barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City.

Investigation showed that Quijano tried to intervene when a persistent Abing tried to have a dance with Quijano’s 17-year-old sister, who refused Abing’s request.

When Quijano tried to stop Abing from pestering his sister, Abing got angry and attacked Quijano, while he was performing as a DJ at the stage.

Abing fled after the attack but security guards near the area caught the suspect and turned him over to police.

Carmen suicide

A 21-YEAR-OLD factory worker was found hanging dead, an apparent suicide, in barangay Luyang, Carmen town in northern Cebu at past midnight yesterday.

The live-in partner, Erico Bayuri, found Roselyn Lumongsod hanging dead inside their bedroom.

Bayuri told police that he then sought his neighbor’s help and brought Lumongsod to the Danao District hospital.

Lumongod was a factory worker of microchips firm Cebu Mitsumi in Danao City.

Bayuri told police that he didn’t know why Lumongsod committed suicide. He said that they didn’t have a fight with the victim.
