KABUL — Police say hundreds of people are burning cars and throwing rocks toward a military camp on the outskirts of the Afghan capital in a protest against an anti-Islam film that has caused uproar across the Muslim world.

Police officer Azizullah says there were as many as 800 people swarming the main thoroughfare of Jalalabad road near a U.S. military base on Monday morning. He says police shot into the air to hold them back. Azizullah goes by only one name.
