MANILA, Philippines—A driver lost his earnings and taxi to robbers in Quezon City before dawn Monday, police said.
Case investigator Police Officer 2 Gerry Napagal of Quezon City Police District station 3 said victim Alfredo Ormido, 35, was robbed by three men who pretended as passengers along Congressional Avenue, Tandang Sora, QC around 4 a.m.
He said the suspects flagged Ormido’s taxi along Quezon Avenue and asked to be taken to Luzon Avenue.
However, upon reaching Congressional avenue, the still unidentified suspects declared the heist and took the victim’s P1,500 cash at gunpoint.
The suspects, Napagal said, didn’t hurt Ormido but ordered him to get out of the Reno Taxi bearing plate number TWZ 474, and ran away with it.
Further investigations are now being undertaken for possible arrest of the suspects, he said.
