1 killed in Pampanga highway accident

MANILA, Philippines—A man was killed after a truck rammed a passenger bus in Lubao, Pampanga before dawn Thursday.

Highway Patrol Group director Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said that Rommel Montaniel, 30, a passenger of the truck which hit a Victory Liner bus (CWA-396) along the National Highway in Sitio (sub-village) JP Rizal, Sta. Cruz village in Lubao, had died after sustaining injuries.

Espina said that the Isuzu Forward truck with a boom crane (RFA-766) driven by a certain Francisco Renan hit the rear of the bus along the highway at around 3 a.m.

Montaniel had been rushed to the Scholastica Romero District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
