THE Boodee Montenio-led Green and Kentkyle Cuisine nipped separate foes to march to the semifinal round of the Bureau of Customs-3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 basketball tournament at the Benedicto College gym.
Green outplayed Blue, 80-77 while Kentkyle tripped Avenido, 85-79.
Blued led Green in the first three periods but the latter caught fire in the fourth with a, 26-19 run for its first taste of the lead, 62-61, with 5:09 remaining.
Three-point artist Noel Medalle played a crucial role in the fourth by scoring 10 points and joined forces with Jan Mose and Boodee Montenio in posting the three-point win.
Tata Laborte and Rizan Herbito paced Blue with 22 and 11 points, respectively.
Earlier, Kentkyle Cuisine led in the first quarter, 25-21 with former CIT Wildcat Ramil Aninion leading the charge. But Avenido responded with a scorching, 27-14 rally to erect a huge, 48-39 advantage at the half then entered the final quarter with a 10-point lead, 69-59.
However, Kentkyle played heads up basketball in the fourth and outscored Avenido, 26-10 for the six-point victory.
Ramil Aninion led Kentkyle with 28 points while Kenneth Maningo and Bert Real chipped in 19 and 12, respectively.
