Muntinlupa police chief relieved
MANILA, Philippines—The chief of Muntinlupa City police was relieved from his post following a shootout earlier Friday in a mall in the city, among other crime incidents in his area, Philippine National Police spokesman, Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said.
He said PNP chief, Director General Nicanor Bartolome ordered the immediate relief of Senior Superintendent Ramiro Bausa due to a “spate of incidents in his area,” including the earlier robbery try at the Alabang Town Center where one was killed and two others were wounded.
“He will be investigated for possible lapses,” Cerbo said in a text advisory.
Southern Police District Chief of Staff Senior Superintendent Conrad Capa was assigned as the officer-in-charge, he said.
Bartolome has also ordered all unit commanders in Metro Manila to institute highest level of preparedness and alertness to prevent a repeat of similar incidents in their areas, he said.
