The national grand lottery draw on Wednesday produced two new millionaires after the jackpot prize eluded bettors for more than two months.
Two winners, one betting in Bataan and the other in Southern Leyte, would split the nearly P300 million pot.
Eight million combinations were bet on for Wednesday’s draw, said Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office media coordinator Joseph Muego. Sales reached P162 million, he said.
The odds of winning was one to 28.99 million.
The Grand Lotto prize has been won thrice in this year alone. The first was more than seven months ago in Feb. 23, wherein two lucky bettors also split the more than P300M jackpot. The second was in July 4, wherein a lone bettor took the more than P163 million in jackpot.
Since the Grand Lotto draw began in May 2010, it has only produced 18 winners, Muego said. Draws are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
On Saturday, the Grand Lotto pot will revert to the minimum guaranteed amount of P30 million, Muego said.
