MANILA, Philippines—The national grand lottery draw on Wednesday night produced two new millionaires, after the jackpot prize eluded bettors for more than two months.

Two winners, one betting in Bataan, the other in Southern Leyte, hit Wednesday night’s Grand Lotto 6/55 winning combination 25-52-26-05-49-17.

The jackpot prize of P299,897,496 will be split evenly between the two winners.

People placed bets on a total of eight million combinations for Wednesday’s draw, said Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office media coordinator Joseph Muego. Sales reached up to P162,611,980, he added.

The odds of hitting the Grand Lotto combination is a whopping one in 28.99 million.

But the Grand Lotto prize has already been won three times this year. The first was on February 23, when two lucky bettors also split the more than P300-million jackpot. The second was on July 4, when a lone bettor won more than P163 million.

Since the Grand Lotto draw began in May 2010, it has produced only 18 winners, Muego said. Draws are done every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

On Saturday, the Grand Lotto pot will revert back to the minimum guaranteed amount of P30 million, Muego said.
