Makati: Dynasty ranch of the Binays

The President scolded on Tuesday Bureau of Immigration officials for the escape of former Palawan Gov. Joel Reyes and his brother, Mario, and other famous crime suspects.

If Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. had a little decency left in him, he should have resigned after the public scolding.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert “HB” Bautista has removed all the “HB” signs in his city amid a wide clamor that he remove his initials posted in its  public places.

The Binays of Makati—Vice President Jojo, Mayor Junjun and Congresswoman Abigail—should take the cue from the Quezon City mayor by removing the “B” signs in public places in the country’s premier city, as well.

The letter “B” with a tail that coils around it stands for the Binay family. It looks like a cattle brand.

Well, the Binays probably think that Makati voters are cattle and the city a huge ranch.

The entrance sign to the city should read: Welcome to the Binay Dynasty Ranch.

Former Interior Secretary Raffy Alunan is asking  on his Facebook account why local gun makers, like United Defense Manufacturing Corp. (UDMC), were left out in the bidding for the purchase of rifles of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Alunan was a firearms salesman before he was drafted in the Cabinet of the Cory Aquino administration.

The UDMC’s M-4 rifle, the latest version of the M-16, has been tested by the Naval Special Operations Group (Navsog) which recommends that its members use it.

Navsog is the local counterpart of the US Navy Seals.

What’s good for the elite Navsog is good for the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines.

So why was UDMC’s M-4 rifle not considered in the bidding process?

There is no logical answer.
