MANILA, Philippines–It is time for the judiciary to move on from the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona, a Supreme Court Associate Justice said Monday
Associate Justice Roberto Abad said his sentiment is shared by the other high court justices as well.

“It’s something that you should give credit to the members (justices) of the Court. We should move on,” he told reporters in an ambush interview.

Abad is one of the contenders for the Chief Justice post. During the public interview with members of the Judicial and Bar Council, he admitted being a good friend of Corona.

He said he is neither the type of person who will leave a friend behind nor the type of person who will betray the institution.

Aside from Abad and Sereno, other high court justices included in the shortlist are Associate Justices Teresita Leonardo de Castro, Arturo Brion, Antonio Carpio.
