Aquino’s uncle passes away

MANILA, Philippines—Malacañang confirmed on Wednesday that the uncle of President Aquino, the eldest brother of his late mother, has passed away.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said Don Pedro Cojuangco died at 10:33 a.m. at the Makati Medical Center of cardio-respiratory arrest secondary to multiple organ failure.

“The wake will be at the Cojuangco residence in Forbes Park (starting Wednesday night) and the burial will be on July 26 at the Manila Memorial Park,” Lacierda said in a text message.
