MANILA, Philippines—Two more suspects in the Maguindanao massacre case have been arraigned.
Of the 196 accused, 78 have faced the court proceedings.
Jimmy Masugat Ampatuan and Police Officer 1 Michael Magsid both pleaded not guilty.
Madsig was arraigned after the Quezon City Regional Trial Court dismissed his motion to quash the 57 counts of murder against him. In his motion, he insisted that he was not at the scene of the crime when 57 civilians including 32 journalists on Nov. 23, 2009 were massacred.
Ampatuan, on the other hand, is a member of the Civilian Volunteer Organization of the Ampatuan clan.
