“Champions Arise” is the theme for the upcoming Kerygma conference this Dec. 1 at Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City.
“Becoming a winner, becoming a champion in different areas of their lives. We believe that being a champion, it has to be in the spiritual level because it is the foundation of all our success,” said Brother Bo Sanchez, founder of the Light of Jesus Family (LOJF) and the Kerygma Family.
Kerygma family ( www.kerygmafamily.com) is a borderless, international, virtual community which has members from 46 countries where people receive daily teachings for their spiritual and personal growth.
Kerygma Conference first mounted in 2006 with the support of Brother Bo’s sister, Chelle Crisanto, SVP of Shepherd’s Voice Radio and TV Foundation Inc., which continues today.
“It gets better every year. I believe that we are more open, we are more experienced, we know how God’s spirit become the light of the people so year after year, we make it better, we make it bigger, we make it stronger, we become wiser,” Bo said in a press conference last Monday, Sept. 4.
The Kerygma Conference 2012 is a one-day event with Mass, worship, entertainment and talks that focus on diverse areas in person’s life – from spiritual concerns, to business and careers.
The objective of the event is to gather everyone – especially those far from God, and those who want to emerge as champions, achieve all that God wants them to be.
Four talks will be given in the said conference. It is a whole day of worship,” said Brother Salvador Tan, feast builder in Cebu.
The conference also targets the young population. In fact, among the four talks that will be made in the said conference, one topic will be addressed to the youth.
“Young people are distracted, they are surrounded with the media and technology, but I believe that they are looking for something to live for and to die for, we are wired that way. I believe that every person, every human being is designed by God to look for something bigger than ourselves. I wanna believe that we are to invite these young people to look and find their purpose,” Bro. Bo said.
There is also an expanded feast every Monday at SM Cebu Trade Hall where people are welcome to be part of the feast.
They have also expanded feast in different schools and communities. The feast includes inspirational talks by Bro. Bo Sanchez.
“This is for people to experience victory in their lives because we, can all be champions because Jesus is our champion, he wins us from the cross, and he passes on that victory for all of us. People are desperate, they’re looking for meaning in their lives, they’re looking for purpose, they are looking for joy also, and they want something to hold on, something to believe in,” Bro. Bo said.
The event expects attendance of 3,000, the capacity of the venue, but hopefully next year it would be able to accommodate a larger venue for a larger number of participants.
