Tourism officer shot dead by riding-in-tandem suspects

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines – The city’s tourism officer died Tuesday, barely an hour after she was rushed to a hospital here for gunshot wounds, Mayor Rodolfo Gantuangco said.

Ma. Fe Fame died at the Kidapawan Doctors Hospital while being operated on for four bullet wounds in the abdomen around 10:05 a.m., Gantuangco said.

Fame was about to board a tricycle outside her home in Apo Sandawa Subdivision for work around 9:15 a.m. when one of two men riding in tandem pumped bullets on her, one hitting her heart, he said.

The armed men had fled toward a still unknown direction while Fame was rushed by neighbors to the hospital.
