SWU, USC still unbeaten in Cesafi volleyball

THE REIGNING champions Southwestern University (SWU) and the University of San Carlos (USC) kept their unbeaten runs going after the games in the 12th Cesafi collegiate volleyball tournament last Sunday at the USC gym.

The belles of SWU hiked their record to 3-0 (win-loss) after sweeping the Cebu Doctor’s University, 25-12, 25-12, 25-15.

With the new scoring system being utilized by the league, the Lady Cobras now have nine points to their name to share the lead with the University of San Jose-Recoletos.

In men’s action, USC now has three wins to their name after they eked past the University of the Visayas, 25-22, 25-23, 26-24. They now have eight points to their name and are behind the University of Southern Philippines Foundation and USJ-R, with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

USPF downed CDU, 25-12, 25-9, 25-12 in the men’s games last Sunday while USJ-R defeated the Cebu Institute of Technology-University, 25-10, 25-18, 25-15.

SWU also pushed its record to six points after notching its second win in three games by defeating the University of Cebu, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
