Ukay-ukay vendor in Consolacion town shot
A TRADER and his father were shot and wounded by an unidentified assailant while they were tending their used clothing store inside the public market in barangay Cansaga, Consolacion town, Cebu last Saturday.
Lope Demecillo, 35, and his father Benjamin, 74 are now recuperating in a Cebu City hospital from gunshot wounds.
Police said a personal grudge could be the motive behind the attack.
Police investigation revealed that the two victims were tending the bargain shop locally known as an ukay-ukay store inside the Consolacion public market past 8 p.m. last Saturday.
Police said the lone gunman who wore a full-faced helmet arrived and fired at the victims.
Police said the gunman aimed the .45 pistol at the head of Lope but Benjamin noticed the assailant and warned Lope.

Police said the two men sped off to barangay Nangka.
Authorities recovered three empty shells of a .45 caliber from the crime scene.
Police said Lope, who owns the ukay-ukay store was the target of the attack.
“It was possible that someone got envious of him (Lope). He said that he may have an idea on the identity of the assailant and the motive of the crime,” said PO1 Niño Cabaron of the Consolacion police in Cebuano. /Reporter Rhea Ruth V. Rosell
