Fire hits residential building in Sta. Mesa, Manila

MANILA, Philippines— Fire struck a residential-commercial building in Manila Monday afternoon, but no one was hurt, a city fire officer said.

Fire Officer 2 Marson Perez said the fire that hit a four-storey building on Araullo Street corner V. Mapa Street in Bacood, Old Sta. Mesa, started around 3:43 p.m., and reached second alarm before it was completely put out at 4:29 p.m.

Fire gutted the entire fourth floor, and another room from the lower floor, Perez said.

No report about the name of the building and the cause of the blaze.
