Kiptanui, Beboso rule VCMC race

KENYAN Josphat Kiptanui and Mary Jane Beboso edged their rivals in the 21-kilometer race of yesterday’s Visayas Community Medical Center’s Value a Charity, Make a Change fun run at the  North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Kiptanui, who last won a 21k title at the y101 run at last month, crossed the finish line at the Parkmall grounds in one hour, 11 minutes and 37 seconds to claim the men’s crown.

Beboso ruled the distaff side with a time of one hour, 47 minutes and 37 seconds.

Kiptanui’s compatriot Abraham Missous lorded the 10k race with a time of 40:59 while Lovely Andrin topped the distaff side with a time of 52:20.

Juluis Kinaadman and Josephine Rubi were the winners in the 3k race with times of 11:18 and 16:33, respectively.

This fund-raising run was held in cooperation with the VCMC Association of Residents and PGIs, JCI Mandaue and JCI Womandaue. Proceeds will be used for VCMC’s charity patients./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
