Foreigner killed in Manila convenience store robbery

MANILA, Philippines – Armed men stormed a convenience store at the corner of Ocampo and F.B. Harrison streets in Manila early Sunday night, killing a foreigner reportedly buying inside the store.

Radio reports said Robert Armstrong, 45, was shot and killed by three robbers who struck at the 7-Eleven branch on F.B. Harrison past 6 p.m.

Armstrong, shot five times in various parts of the body, was declared dead on arrival at the San Juan de Dios hospital.

The assailants fled on motorcycles with P20,000 in cash.
