A CAR careened off the highway, hit a steel railing and slammed into a shanty yesterday in sitio San Rafael, barangay San Roque, Talisay City.
Police said the driver 18-year-old Phel Charmaine Luaña of Seaview Heights, Talisay City, fell asleep on the wheel.
She lost control of the Toyota Innova she was driving.
Luaña, a medical technology student of Velez College, suffered minor injuries.
She said she was returning home after driving her younger sister to school when the accident happened.
No one was inside the shanty when the car struck the cottage.
