Arroyo quietly returns to Pampanga to give relief goods

/ 12:29 AM September 02, 2012

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Ailing former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo quietly slipped back to Pampanga’s second district, and handed out relief goods to flood victims for two days, reports received by the Inquirer said.

On Thursday, Arroyo checked the situation of residents in Barangay Remedios in Lubao town. On Friday, she visited folks in Barangay Fortuna in Floridablanca town.

She traveled to and from her home in La Vista, Quezon City, where she has lived since a Pasay regional trial court judge on July 25 allowed her to post bail in a case for electoral sabotage.

“She’s trying to make full use of her temporary liberty. If she’s arrested, she won’t be able to mingle with her constituents anymore,” said a member of her party who declined to be named for lack of authority to speak for her. No TV cameras followed her. Tonette Orejas, Inquirer Central Luzon
