Brion says he’s worth P59.5M, not P1.5M
MANILA, Philippines—Supreme Court Associate Justice Arturo Brion on Saturday clarified that his net worth for 2011 is not just about P1.5 million but to P59.5 million.
Brion said that his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) last year could be derived by adding his P1,498,509 declared net worth in 2011 to his 2010 SALN of P58,046,166, or a total of P59,544,675.
He said the computation was “pursuant to the General Instructions in the SALN Manual issued by the Civil Service Commission.”
“A comprehensive listing of all assets and liabilities is not needed in the annual declaration,” Brion said.
He said what need to be documented in the annual declaration are:

- Creation and termination of business interests and financial connections; and
Relatives joining or being separated from the government, since the last SALN submission
