Relief goods for Luzon flood victims

The Bosconian International Chamber of Commerce Cebu (BICC Cebu) turned over donations raised from the “Tabang Luzon for Flood Victims” relief program.

BICC Cebu launched the program together with Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter, Cebu Business Club, Cebu Gifts, Toys and Housewares Foundation Inc., Don Bosco Cebu Alumni Inc., Movement for a Livable Cebu, University of Asia and the Pacific-Strategic Business Economic Program UA&P-SBEP Cebu Alumni Association, to accept donations for the fellow Filipinos affected by heavy flooding in Luzon recently.

A total of 21 boxes of canned goods, noodles and mineral water; and 22 boxes of used clothing, shoes and bags, were turned over by BICC Cebu and its partner organizations to the Philippine Red Cross Cebu Chapter headed by its administrator Norma Tancinco in a ceremony last Aug. 28 at the Cebu Grand Hotel.

The BICC Cebu and its partner-organizations used e-mail and social media to mobilize and encourage their members to support the relief drive.

Student volunteers from the Don Bosco Technology Center-Technical Vocation Education Department assisted in the repacking of goods.

The donations were shipped to Manila for free onboard a vessel of Sulpicio Lines.

The BICC Cebu is an association of past pupils of St. John Bosco who are now businessmen, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and professionals.
