Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on Friday released a “corrected version” of her statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) for 2011, showing her net worth at P18.03 million, P44,200 higher than what she earlier reported.
“The SALN of the Chief Justice as of Dec. 31, 2011, released [Thursday] by the Office of the Chief Justice is the uncorrected version. The correction of the SALNs of the Members of the Court has been authorized by the court en banc. The correct version is the one released by the Clerk of Court,” Sereno said in a statement.
Sereno’s SALN filed on April 27 and released by the Supreme Court’s office of the clerk of court showed the Chief Justice with a net worth of P18,029,575.51. The SALN issued by her office the other day, dated April 26, showed a net worth of P17,985,375.51.
The updated SALN showed Sereno’s real assets totalling only P8,281,500 and not P10,481,500. She revised the P1.8-million acquisition cost of the lot she bought in Davao City in 1997 to just P600,000.
In the corrected copy, Sereno’s P6-million house and lot in Filinvest East with a current market value of P6 million no longer carried the tag “including contents.”
