4th vehicle stolen in QC in 1 week

Car thieves struck again Friday in Quezon City, this time taking a sport utility vehicle from a 62-year-old woman and her son.

It was the fourth vehicle reported stolen in the city this week.

Three armed men took a silver Mitsubishi Montero (NQK-708) and some P100,000 in cash from Liliosa Jusena and son Neil, 40, of Barangay Karuhatan, Valenzuela City, according to SPO3 Ed Peralta of the Masambong police substation.

At around 7 a.m. Friday, the Jusenas were about to park the vehicle in front of Hollywood Building on West Avenue when the three men banged on the window.

Holding their victims at gunpoint, the men forced their way into the Montero and commandeered the vehicle. They drove toward Delta and later dropped off the Jusenas in the Edsa Balintawak area in front of a Mitsubishi Motors dealership branch.

According to the police, the stolen money was supposed to be for the treatment of Liliosa who was suffering from a bone disease.

Friday’s carjacking was the fourth to be reported in Quezon City this week alone. Last weekend, a Toyota Revo and a Toyota Fortuner were seized from their respective drivers, while on Monday a Nissan X-Trail was also taken from its driver who was also shot in the back.

In all four incidents, the robberies were carried out by a trio and the victims were briefly taken on a short ride before they were released.
