PANDI, Bulacan—The municipal election office here has rejected the request of actor Philip Salvador to transfer his voter’s registration from Mandaluyong City, saying documents showed that the local house address he gave was fictitious.
In an Aug. 24 resolution, Victoria Parulan, town election officer, said her office could not grant Salvador’s application after the agency discovered that there was no house standing on No. 54 Santisima St. in Barangay Bagong Barrio, which the actor listed as his address.
She said investigation showed that the property belonged to a bank.
A check made by the Commission on Elections “reveals that the premises are owned by Planters Development Bank as established by the pertinent tax declaration of real property,” Parulan said.
“Respondent has not shown any proof of ownership or even his right to occupy subject premises in support of his claim that he is an actual resident therein,” she said.
Salvador, through his lawyer, said the property was under renovation.
“It is obvious that respondent did not live there and he is not residing there at this time,” the resolution said.
Salvador’s petition said he has been living on that property for the last six months, prior to his request for transfer of his voter’s registration on April 11.
The actor has been frequenting the province this year. Reports said Salvador, father of Kris Aquino’s eldest child, is intending to run for an elective position in Bulacan, possibly for vice governor, in 2013.
