Rivals UV, SHS-AdC clash in jrs division today
Games Thursday (USC Gym)
5 p.m. – UV vs. SHS-AdC (Jrs.)
6:30 p.m. – SWU vs. USC (Srs.)
AFTER a one year wait, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles get their shot at revenge at defending champions, University of the Visayas Baby Lancers today in the 12th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) juniors basketball tournament at the University of San Carlos gym.
The bad blood between the two teams has been brewing ever since the Baby Lancers came back from a 1-2 deficit in their finals series last year and claimed the crown. Though much of the two teams’ lineup have been changed, the will to demolish each other remains the same especially with both teams holding identical 7-0 (win-loss) records heading to today’s grudge match-up.
Expected to lead UV will be reigning MVP, Paul Desiderio, who will need help from his young teammates Leonard Santillan, Ralph Dinolan, John Escalona and Gerald Fernandez.

However, the Cobras will have to do the job without their best point guard, Joseph Airo Nalos, who will be indefinitely sitting out as a result of the slapping incident between him and head coach, Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba, in the first half of their game against UV last Sunday (see separate story). /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
