MANILA, Philippines—An estimated P10-million worth of illegal drugs was confiscated from a suspected drug pusher following a buy-bust operation of agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted in Manila.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez Jr. said in a statement released Wednesday that an estimated two kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, was seized from Rhoderick Lunes, 34, from Banlic, Cabuyao, Laguna during a buy-bust operation along Roxas Boulevard Tuesday night.
Gutierrez said that the operation was carried out at around 6 p.m. in a parking area of Sulaiman Park, Roxas Boulevard. The undercover PDEA agent had previously agreed to meet Lunes at the said area to the illegal substance.
Immediately after Lunes received the marked bill, PDEA agents pounced on the suspect and apprehended him, he said.
Lunes will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, Gutierrez said.
