Coast Guard to conduct wreath offering in Masbate during Robredo interment

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Coast Guard will pay its own respects Tuesday during the interment of Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo in Naga City.

The BRP Edsa (SARV 002) will conduct wreath offering at 12 noon at the area of the plane crash in Masbate which killed Robredo and his companions, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda posted in his Twitter account, quoting Transportation Secretary Manuel Roxas.

The BRP Edsa is currently deployed in Masbate to help search for the right engine part of the Piper Seneca plane which will help the investigation behind the plane crash.

“In connection w/ d interment of Sec Robredo tmrw, we have directed our sarv-002 (now in masbate retrieving d right engine)..2 conduct wreath offering in the crash site at 12 noon tmrw,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, the PCG Helo will also conduct flower drop at the site.

All Coast Guard ships will blow its horns for a minute at 12 noon to honor Robredo, he further tweeted.

The plane carrying Robredo and two pilots crashed off the waters of Masbate on August 18 and was found three days later 180 feet below and 800 meters from the shoreline.
