MANILA, Philippines – The funds received by the Philippine National Police (PNP) from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) were all recorded, said PNP Chief Director General Raul Bacalzo over a 990AM interview Tuesday.

“We have a complete record, account number from Landbank and disbursement vouchers to support the documents for the National headquarters,” said Bacalzo, a day after a Senate inquiry Monday into the alleged anomalous use of PCSO funds revealed that the donations received by the PNP from the state-run agency were not recorded.

Bacalzo said he sent letters to the office of Senators Gregorio Honasan, Teofisto Guingona and Panfilo Lacson last week informing them about this.

Bacalzo said that from 1997 to 2010, they received “donations from the PCSO, including revenues earned from “small town lottery” from the February 2008 to May 2010

Bacalzo said last week that the PCSO funds deposited in nine accounts of the PNP were mostly used as financial assistance or to purchase police equipment but seven of them have since been closed. He added that he even returned P500,000 “excess money to the Bureau of Treasury”.
