Severed head found under stilt shanty in Manila

MANILA, Philippines–A severed head of a man, already bloated and wrapped in masking tape, was found under a stilt shanty on Manila Bay in Binondo, Manila, on Monday morning.

Police said the head was found under the shanty of a Julie Gerandoy near Gate 62 Parola Comound, Barangay 275 Zone 28 by student Jesse Mark Gullas, 11, who was scavenging and thought it to be a dog’s head at first. Village watchman Richard dela Cruz reported it to the police at 10:15 a.m.

PO3 Henry Navarro described the head to be of a man in his 40s, with crew cut hair and bloated that the eyeballs have already popped out. He added that it might have been washed ashore because of the high

tide the other night. Pictures of the severed head showed that it was wrapped in masking tape from under the eyes up to the chin.

The head was sent to Cruz Funeraria for autopsy and the case will be cross-referenced with reported missing persons, Navarro said.
