School worker hacks wife, lover inside home

A TIMEKEEPER of a major school in Cebu surrendered to authorities after hacking his wife and her alleged lover inside their one-storey house in sitio Supa, barangay Tuyan in Naga City southern Cebu at dawn yesterday.

Naga police said Dick John Dioda, a 37-year-old timekeeper of Cebu Doctor’s University,  surrendered to them while his 29-year-old wife Charlotte Diodad and a certain Marjun were brought to the South General Hospital.

Police said Dioda arrived home at 12 a.m. yesterday and caught Charlotte lying naked in bed with Marjun in their bedroom.  Angered, Dioda took out a bolo and hacked Charlotte and Marjun.

Charlotte sustained a hack wound on her right arm while Marjun sustained a hack wound on his left shoulder.

Police said the couple’s two children were still asleep when the attack happened.  Barangay tanods brought Charlotte and Marjun to the hospital.

Dioda surrendered to the police at past 12 a.m. yesterday.  PO1 Selvano Bascones said Charlotte and Marjun were no longer in the hospital as of yesterday noon.  Dioda is detained in the mini-cell of the Naga police precinct pending the filing of charges against him. Reporter Rhea Ruth V. Rosell
