PA FOUND HANGING DEAD

A 74-YEAR-OLD man was found hanging dead in his home in barangay Valencia, Carcar City, southern Cebu.

Melchor Gellecania was found by his daughter suspended from the post of his room past 8 a.m. yesterday.

Police said the man used a nylon rope in hanging himself.

The daughter, Vianney, told police that her father had been experiencing pain in the hips.

Several days ago, the father threatened that he would commit suicide, the daughter said.

Vianney untied her father and sought help from the police.

Responding policemen brought Melchor to the Carcar District Hospital where he was declared dead by the attending physician.

MAN GUNNED DOWN IN CEBU CITY

A 26-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead in an early morning shooting incident in barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing of Rodney Rollon of barangay Pardo, Cebu City.

Police said Rollon and his 34-year-old cousin Agnice Delute yesterday went to the area to visit a friend in sitio Catwalk.

Police said Rollon left ahead.

He was walking in an alley when he was shot in the head.

SPO4 Rey Cuyos of the homicide section of the Cebu City Police Office said Delute was “uncooperative” during the interrogation.
