6.6 magnitude quake jolts Sarangani, Davao del Sur

MANILA, Philippines – A 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit Sarangani, Davao del Sur late Sunday night, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The quake was recorded at 11:05p.m., 390 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. The tectonic quake had a depth of 92 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in Davao City; Intensity III in General Santos City; and Intensity II in Koronadal City, as well as Tupi and Tolomok, South Cotabato.

No immediate damages were recorded but Phivolcs said aftershocks were expected.
