THE Philippine Army took the long route but still got the job done as it notched its third win in a row after eking past Cagayan Valley, 17-25, 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 15-10, in the Shakey’s V-League Open at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium yesterday.
The Army Troopers scored four of the team’s 13 blocks in the decider, including the clincher as skipper Cristina Salak foiled Thai Sutadta Chuewulim’s corner spike that wrapped up the 1:51 encounter in the third playdate of the league’s mid-season offering. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
