Breakups between lovers usually end in tears—but this one also led to a law suit.
A Manila prosecutor approved the filing of frustrated homicide charges against a 16-year-old female tourism student in the Manila Regional Trial Court yesterday.
The complainant was her 20-year-old ex-boyfriend who claimed that she assaulted him moments after he ended their 10-month relationship.
Luis Carlo Razon, also a college student residing in Sta. Cruz, Manila, said they were having a drink with friends at his condo unit on Aug. 6 when he told the girl about his decision.
Minutes later, their friends noticed that the girl was leaning precariously at the condo’s window, prompting Razon to pull her back by her hair.
She then punched him, and in frustration he kicked her.
Later, after their friends had left, the girl allegedly hit him in the head with a bottle several times till the bottle broke.
She stopped at the sight of blood, took a knife and asked him to kill her, Razon added.
Fearing that she might stab him with the knife, he left the condo and boarded a tricycle to a hospital.
The girl was later arrested by a security guard who then turned her over to the police.
